About Idea Citizen

The best thinking
happens out loud.

Ideas get better when you talk them through with other people. Idea Citizen is a community, a podcast and a set of tools built around that.

It started as a TED
Talks fan group.

Nearly 20 years ago, Idea Citizen began on LinkedIn as a fan group for TED Talks. Today it's a community of more than 1.5 million members.

Every conversation since, on the podcast, in the masterminds and around the table, has come back to the same thing: ideas don't survive alone. They survive in community.

JACKIE DOMANUS, FOUNDER

FROM THE FOUNDER

I'm Jackie Domanus. I have an economics degree and built a career in advertising and marketing across a lot of brands. That work put me in a lot of rooms where a new idea had to survive a pitch, a budget and a committee before it ever reached a customer.

It taught me that coming up with an idea is one skill. Putting some rigor around it is another. Staying open to different ways of thinking is another, and in my experience it's where a lot of organizations get stuck. Getting anyone, yourself included, to actually build the thing is another.

Alongside that career, I built Idea Citizen. It started on LinkedIn, grew to 1.5 million people, and expanded into a podcast and mastermind events. All of it keeps coming back to the same questions: how ideas start, how they get shaped, what leaders need, and why learning matters. For me, the answer is community.
